Book Moira to Speak

To hear Moira speak about her amazing life, adventures and the many ‘ups and downs’ of her extraordinary calling to help children, families and communities in need is simply awe inspiring, mesmerizing and totally unforgettable!.

Captivated by the work of Mother Theresa, Moira Kelly stuck to her childhood vow to work with the revered nun and was inspired to begin her own journey of humanitarian aid. In 1999 Moira opened the doors on The Children First Foundation, an organisation run to connect children the world over with the medical treatment needed to live or dramitaclly improve the quality of their lives. From Bosnia to the Bronx Moira has given hope and life to hundreds of families, facilitating the treatment of their children, and overseeing their aftercare, previously on the farm in Killmore and now in Melbourne. Moira is driven by her philosophy,

The greatest act of kindness changes generations. Wherever there is the greatest evil, the greatest good can be achieved.”

 Key Points

  • Many regard Moira Kelly as saint-like. She would not agree but believes she is just trying to make a difference and help those less fortunate.
  • Coupled with her own inner determination, the lessons Moira learned from the diminutive Mother Theresa set the foundation for a lifetime of charity work.
  • Moira is a truly remarkable and authentic Australian. A woman of passion and compassion, her story is both compelling and immediately relevant in today’s world situation
  • Moira Kelly, established the ‘Children First Foundation’ in July 1999 on land in Killmore that had been donated to her by Rotary to support her work with sick children. While Moira is no longer a Director of the Foundation, the work she started continues and many children each year receive life saving and life altering operations and procedures and are looked after before and after operations at the lovely Farm in Killmore.

Her Talk

Of course, a typical Key Note presentation, even with heart warming images and videos is hardly enough time to scratch the surface on Moira’s incredible life story. However, with her wonderful charm, sense of humour and natural ‘gift of the gab’ and ‘story telling’ ability (inherited from her Irish Dad, no doubt), it is guaranteed to move each delegate to the core of their being.

People will be glued to their seats, at times in fits of laughter, other times in tears, however always inspired by the unbelievable ‘feats’ and ‘miracles’ that can be achieved by the power of a human spirit on fire and the determination of a Mother Lion that refuses to take ‘NO’ for an answer.

For some, just like the many children and families. Moira has helped, it may even be a life-changing experience!.  Moira’s message has universal appeal and she has brought audiences to their feet and received rave reviews on every occasion.

Moira is a natural born speaker and a seasoned pro who has been ‘telling her story’ or Speaking Publicly to every kind of Audience, large and small for over twenty years.

In a world crying out for meaning and inspiration, Moira’s raw passion, authentic style and soul stirring mission is riveting.

    Good afternoon,
I work for the City of Greater Dandenong Council as the Volunteer Co-ordinator. I have the privilage of looking after 250 volunteers who work throughout this amazing but challenging community. I would like to give them a special experience during National Volunteer Week and wonder how I might explore the meer idea of having Moira Kelly speak with them at an afternoon tea here. Kind regards. Trish Roche Volunteer Co-ordinator City of Greater Dandenong – 8571 5335 / 0408579587

Dear Moirai, In 2009 my beautiful niece Tiana passed away after a 5 year battle to neuroblastoma aged 9. Her diagnosis and death created much grief, and together with her parents, family and friends we formed a foundation to raise funds for children’s cancer (royal children’s hospital) One way we do this is to have a ladies gala night – Tiana’s night of sparkles – held 8th of August in Epping Victoria. Each year we ask companies for donations of gifts/money/hampers to auction off, door prizes etc. We also seek an inspirational person to speak words of wisdom, to empathise the importance of our cause, and need to raise these funds. Every time I hear of the wonderful things you have worked towards and achieve I choke back tear. I would be honoured if you could attend our function this year, or in the future to inspire our ladies. This year we aim at reaching 250 ladies attending our event. I thank you for all you have done to inspire me, through your great work with Chokie, Emanuel and so many other children. You can find out more on our website or contact me directly.
    Thank you

I am writing to enquire about possibly booking Moira to speak to our Grade 3-6s as part of our Inquiry and Religion units for Term 3. We are exploring the concept of heroes, role models and think she would fantastic! There would be about 120 kids in total but of course happy to break up into 2 smaller groups if that suits better. If you could please reply with any details regarding cost/availability it would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you!
